"TRACING SOCIOTECHNICAL IMAGINARIES: A METHODOLOGICAL FRAMEWORK TO STUDY EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES".
.
The concept of sociotechnical imaginaries can be a privileged analytical lens for studying emerging technologies (ETs) and understanding how collective visions of desirable futures can performatively influence technological innovation processes. The research proposes an integrated methodological framework for the empirical investigation of sociotechnical imaginaries related to ETs.
.
By integrating top-down (institutional governance) and bottom-up (public opinion) perspectives, the study leverages discursive practices for investigating the dynamic co-production of ETs and exploring expectations concerning ETs to address critical questions about governance, social perceptions, and the roles of key actors in technological innovation processes.
