Our Research Fields
The Department has built over time a lot of strong relationships with national and local policy makers and different stakeholder groups also thanks to an involvement in several national and international research projects on the changes of the welfare state and the public sector; particular attention is focused on europeanisation processes in different policy fields, technological transformations of digital sphere and changes affecting identity formation processes of different social groups and subjects (eg women, LGBTs, disadvantaged groups, professional groups).
The research activity of the Department of Social Sciences has as distinguishing features:
- the highly interdisciplinary nature of programs and research interests;
- a strong integration between theoretical reflection and empirical research in a framework of strong contamination between methods;
- a significant attention to the application of the research results achieved.
