Information for the Incoming Erasmus students and the prevention of contagion
Information for the Incoming Erasmus students about the academic arganization and the prevention of contagion
In the coming academic year the Department must follow the mandatory rules provided to keep a safe didactic activity and prevent contagion, starting with the substantial reduction of capacity of the teaching rooms: a room which could host 100 people in the past years, is now only allowed to host only 50 people. In generale, we have to prevent crowding in every public space of the Department.
Maintening the safety of our staff and students as our first concern, we decided to guarantee nevertheless that every student could follow 50% of his/her classes in presence, and at the same time to allow the students who can not reach the Department to follow at least 50% of their academic programs from a distance.
The academic year will start on the 28th of September; our staff will meet the students in several occasions in order to give indications about the academic goals of our courses, the services for students (tutoring, orientation, placement etc.) and the organization of classes. Every meeting will be displayed on our social pages in order to make it possible to follow it for the students who won't be able to attend in presence. The schedule of the meetings will be published on 15th of September.
As regards the organization of the classes, the timetable will be organized so as to give the possibility to students to attend in classes at least two days a week (one in the the morning, the other in the afternoon); professors will give the rest of his/her class online; at the beginning of each class, the professor will explain the timetable and the platform chosen and give all the necessary information about where to follow or to find the recording of the online classes.
This will allow for better timing of the classes: students will be free to follow the online classes live, or in a deferred moment.
Students who will not be able to attend classes in presence will be supported by the professors in his/her office hours (to be held online or in presence)
Finally, many of our courses are already recorded on Federica Web Learning, and several classes will be ready in the following months.
